The F Word: A Foster-to-Adopt Story
Season one of The F Word, follows Kristin and Nicole as they navigate the foster-to-adoption process. The 6 episodes that encompass season one cover the nearly 2-year journey of this queer couple expanding their family. This comedic docuseries is a co-production of ITVS and PBS Digital Studios, and was featured at Frameline and the LA Film Festival. It is also looking forward to a season two, where the series continues their story while amplifying other voices in the foster care world: birth families, foster youth, adoptees, P.O.C. perspectives, and social entrepreneurs working to make things better.
Queer Kid Stuff
A web series for kids, Queer Kid Stuff imagines a kinder and more equal future through highly-accessible education and entertainment for kids ages 3+. Hosted by tie-wearing queer lady, Lindsay, and her non-binary best-stuffed friend, Teddy. This is Gender Studies 101 meets Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood!
So this is my new favorite thing. The queer sibling of Broad City and Girls, and the soul sister to Little Horribles, Boxed In is a comedic masterpiece of a web series. Written and directed by Amy York Rubin, and part of the IFC Comedy Crib family, Boxed In is about how we box ourselves into teeny tiny identities and that pretty much sucks.
The Peculiar Kind
The Peculiar Kind is a web series turned documentary brought to you by Coven and directed by Alexis Casson. The series explores everyday issues through the lens of queer women of color in Brooklyn, New York. The web series premiered in early 2012 and came to an end late 2014. The series explores issues of race, education, gender performance, queer(s) in the media and much, much more.
